Title Lead Electrical Engineer
Duration: Fulltime Direct Hire
Location: Tempe, AZ

You will support the team’s workload, resource planning.
Act has a delegate to the Electrical service line leader, as/if required.
Work independently and collaborate in cross-discipline team to meet project goals.
Develop and perform quality reviews for detailed electrical engineering documents and technical specifications.
Engineer-of-Record for projects and/or project components of varying degrees of complexity.
Lead electrical engineering and technical design teams and manage the project scope, schedule, and budget for the electrical discipline.
Leads and develops electrical designs for LV and MV voltage systems including but not limited to electrical calculations, equipment data sheets, electrical specifications, control panel, motor schematics, single line diagrams, hazardous area classification studies, lighting protection, grounding and lighting plans
Review and provide senior review of electrical computer models using computer software (ETAP, SKM, Easypower, etc.), perform related analysis, and create technical reports based upon those results (for load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, harmonic analysis, equipment, and component sizing, etc.)
Evaluation and selection of heavy industrial and mining electrical systems and materials.
Prepare and review control deliverables such as Control Narratives, Cause and Effect diagrams, System Architecture Diagrams, PLC/DCS Layouts, and IO wiring
Provide configuration of and develop programming for controls equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, DCS Systems, etc.
Prepares and revises brownfield and Greenfield documentation in various phases of design and construction, including plans, diagrams, and installation details.
Prepare drawing, engineering and bid packages for the contractor and the client.
Provides guidance, training and mentorship for junior and intermediate engineers, designers, and drafters.
Conducts quality assurance and implements quality control on projects across the service line
Lead and supervise multiple electrically focused technical projects.
Collaborate with professionals, other engineers, planners, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects, as well as proposal and business development opportunities.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree Engineering with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 10 (ten) years of experience in medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems
Licensed Professional Engineer
Lead Electrical, and controls design and engineering team.
Design-Build project execution experience.
Experience with mining, oil and gas, water treatment, and other EPCM projects with a minimum of ten years of successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of industry standards and best practices including NEC, IEEE, and others.
Excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to work within a team.
Strong planning, organization, and execution skills
Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, computations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to project sites. Approximately 10% overnight travel.
Must pass background check.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $98,300 – $149,500

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
